Welcome back to the podcast. This is another one in the Financial Abundance Prosperity series.
It's not about the money.
Does that even make sense when we're talking about financial prosperity and abundance?
Well, I'll tell you why that is in this episode. We are gonna be looking at the three money mistakes that people make.
Mistake No. 1 is to have a lot of chaos when it comes to money, things not being in order, um, things backing up, receipts all over the place, and there isn't good basic bookkeeping when it comes to your business.
Years ago, I was working with a mentor, and I was freaking out because I had this huge tax bill that was unexpected. It was because I did not have certain systems in place to bring order to the money that was coming in. But, you know, in terms of allocating different funds for different purposes, I did not have that system.
So, what she said to me was really interesting. She said, "Well, you know, if you get to pay a good amount of taxes, it means that you have earned a good amount." So we were reframing it and shifting it.
So I was able to shift my perspective around it, um, I was a little bit less freaked out but still kind of scrambling to make it all work and paid on time.
But what that taught me is that when there is more order with the money department, then it's like the universe recognizes, "Oh, this person can handle what she's been given, and we can increase the flow of abundance her way because she's demonstrated some responsibility and good stewardship, basically."
So whether it's allocating enough funds for certain projects or purposes or tax bills and paying staff and all of that, we wanna have a good degree of order because when you're able to handle what you are already receiving, it opens up the capacity for you to receive more. Does that make sense?
So the channels are clear and open; you're ready to receive, okay? So the other two mistakes are related. So the second one is not being a good giver of money. In previous episodes, I have talked about the circulation of money, money going out, money coming in, being a really wonderful, generous giver, and then a gracious receiver.
And there are two sides to the same coin, right? So if you imagine the oxygen and the blood in our bodies or the water systems in the earth, it's about circulation. It flows out, it flows in, right? Flows out and in. So the same thing with money. It's part of nature, right? Part of the world that we live in.
So if we are congested or constricted on either end of the giving or the receiving, which is actually the third mistake, being a poor receiver, well, let's talk about these together. It blocks, it blocks the channels.
So rewind of a number of years ago, I used to be the person who would walk into a clothing store, and I would not want to talk to the salespeople.
I just thought they were going to sell me something I didn't want and take away the little money that I had, and I was holding on to it really tightly, as if I was operating from the assumption that I don't know if I'm gonna get more or um, it's scarce, and I only have this little bit, and it's a finite amount.
And really, that's not actually true. We can tap into the flow of abundance of more. More on that in future segments of the series, but I was not a good giver, right? I was tight with it; I was constricted, I was restricted with it. And if I'm restrictive with the giving portion, then it means that the receiving side is also constricted.
So this doesn't only mean being constricted or restrictive with the money. If you are kind of shying away from sharing generously of your gifts and talents, that would be a form of stinginess, right? We want to make sure that you are sharing your amazing, beautiful gifts with the world.
So part of what you can really dive into is how can you do that much more abundantly, much more generously, even in the face of fears and maybe doubts or all that mindset chatter that is not serving you. I cover that in another segment, but for now, we're talking about you being able to generously give. Okay, so that's mistake No. 2.
Mistake No. 3 is not being able to be a good receiver. I see this all the time with doctors, healers, practitioners, experts because they love what they do; they would simply do it for free, really. They're so passionate about helping other people that they sometimes just offer up their talents and services for free.
However, when it comes to their turn to being a receiver of the payment or of good, they block it off.
It's like you have this container to receive, and you want to receive abundance and prosperity, but saying no thank you or oh no, no, no or um, playing less than, smaller than, maybe not showing up, not really going for those opportunities, or really having some discomfort around receiving the money.
It's like you have this container, and there's this big lid that closes it shut from you receiving.
And I see a lot of practitioners in this boat where they love and they think they're being generous givers, but then when it comes time to them receiving, oh no, no, you know, there's a funny sticky point there.
So if that's you, I'm going to encourage you to shift it and still open up the lid to receiving, receiving the good that you desire because it's about circulating. As you do good, as you put good out there, it comes back to you.
So those are three money mistakes that it's kind of easy to fall into, and some of us have been programmed that way. Our mindsets have been conditioned from years and years ago to believe certain things like circulating, receiving money is no good, rich people are evil, money doesn't grow on trees. There's a lot of limiting beliefs around money out there. So let's do a recap.
Mistake No. 1: Not being orderly with your money.
Mistake No. 2: Not being a good giver and giving generously of yourself and money.
Mistake No. 3: Not being a great receiver.
Let me know if you resonate with any of these, and if you're working on shifting any of these to your benefit.
So if you like this episode, definitely like, comment, and share this with your friends. The more people who are aware of these ideas, the more abundantly we can all live and enjoy our experiences.
