In today's episode, we are looking at the number one thing you can do to avoid burnout.
Now, before we really get into the heaviness and the signs and symptoms of burnout, I actually wanted to look at the opposite. Let's start here because it is so important.
You know, this is why we're here, why we're given this life. And it's the opportunity to experience joy and happiness, to feel super excited to wake up and start the day because you're on purpose, because you're living your dream.
You just are feeling grateful for every moment, and you are present, you are productive, you are able to enjoy great health, beautiful relationships, and be of service to others around you, especially when it comes to your contribution and your work.
So the opposite of that is someone who might be feeling a lot that they don't have that spark anymore, that's been long gone. They're just showing up, but they're not really fully present.
You've seen those people, or maybe you recognize this within yourself. At times it's feeling maybe low energy, low in spirit, low in your physical vitality, just overall kind of depressed.
And this is really a major cost to you and our society and our world because my belief is that when we are all tuned in, plugged into our purpose and dreams, it positively impacts everyone around us, and then even more with this ripple effect that goes on and on.
So there are some things that can be happening physiologically, right? So if you're burning the candle at both ends, you're not getting good sleep, you're neglecting to move your body, you're not eating very well.
These are all things that can really diminish your physical energy pretty quickly. You know, you can't go too many nights in a row without proper sleep and not notice that, right?
But what can happen sometimes is that it can be chronic. So maybe it's not that you're missing four hours of sleep, but it's just that 30 minutes, that hour every night.
So let's say you're down an hour a night of sleep, if you total that up over seven days, that's seven hours in one week. That's almost for some people, a full night's rest.
And so you want to be looking at the things, the habits that are not serving you, and then in place of those developing daily power disciplines that will serve you, that will support you, that will nourish you.
So getting that great sleep and rest, and for some people, I know it's much easier to say than it is to implement, which is why I've developed a whole program and a system to help people with this. For others, it's nourishing foods, right?
Like grabbing too many fast food meals that are basically junk food that don't provide much other than calories.
You know, we want most of our meals, or if not all of them, to be nourishing, positively nourishing and like our fuel. So the number one thing to be looking at to avoid burnout is to notice the signs, especially the early warning signs.
So early warning signs could be that you're noticing you're not feeling refreshed from sleep. Your sleep could use some love and care. You're noticing that you're grabbing that fast food way too often. You're noticing that you're missing moments, maybe with loved ones in your family where you're saying you've got to work or you're just not present.
You're missing important milestones or just those family dinners. Take notice of those warning signs because you are not meant to just be a machine and to be working all the time.
You have other important aspects of your life that will feed and nourish you and give you that added joy and satisfaction. And they can all really work beautifully together. So let's go a bit deeper.
There's always gonna be a root cause, a deeper reason why you're getting into certain activities, certain habits that don't serve you or maybe are neglecting things that would be really beneficial for you to get into, like really positive daily power disciplines of eating well, sleeping well, moving well, breathing well, all of that, you know, going well. And that deeper root cause.
Perhaps it's a worthiness thing. You're attaching some symbol of accomplishment achievement to the work area only of your life. And maybe that's what was modeled to you.
Or maybe you want to be the first in your family and the first among your peer group to be this. And so you associate hard work and neglecting yourself as a price to pay for that.
But my belief is that when you pour into yourself, you get your health right, so your healthy body, mind, and spirit and all of this are feeling wonderful and uplifted, then automatically it's gonna spill over into every other area of your life, your relationships, your work, your family, community.
And so they all work in collaboration. So I think it's a very old program that we've been conditioned into believing that you've gotta work hard and you've gotta exhaust yourself. And I don't believe that. For myself, I choose a different belief. And you can as well, you can choose whatever belief you would like.
So catching the early warning signs is crucial or catching any, you know, maybe it's not early anymore. And catching the red flag warning signs starts to pay attention because when you do, you can, no matter where you are, totally turn things around. I don't believe there's any moment where someone's too far gone.
It is totally possible no matter what state you're in, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, you can always turn things around. And sometimes for some people, in order to really get that lesson, that spiritual lesson, sometimes there's gotta be that dark night of the soul where you just go into the depths and realize, okay, here's an opportunity to turn things around.
And when you grab the opportunity and you decide to shift things for yourself, and perhaps you'll need some help and some guidance, that's okay, you know, ask for it and receive it.
But it starts with you making that decision for yourself. Or if you've seen other people burning out around you and you know that you do not want to go in that direction at all, well, you can start to be really proactive, right?
Because what you start to implement now in terms of healthy daily power disciplines, developing those and having that be the foundation where you can build a super healthy life and a super healthy business is golden, it's super, super, super great.

But you know, you want to be able to develop and design a life that you love that's in alignment with you so that you're playing the long game so that every day of your amazing beautiful life is one that you feel super healthy in, where you are really living full out and it's not above being burnt out.
